How do I configure my mobile device to receive email?

If you have an Infoserve Pro Website here are the steps to add an email account to your Android or iOS device.  The Settings you need for this are included below.

Email on Android

If you have an Android device:

  • From the Applications menu, select Email.  This may be named Mail on some versions of Android.
  • Type your full email address and your password and then select Manual.
  • Depending on the type of account you are setting up, select IMAP or POP.

On the Incoming server settings page, check that your email address is correct and add the following:

  • Domain/Username - Type your full email address in this box.  If Domain and Username are separate text boxes on your version of Android, leave the Domain box empty, and type your full email address in the Username box.
  • Password – Use the password that you use to access your account.
  • IMAP Server – Use the address of your IMAP server.
  • Security type – Pick whether SSL or otherwise.
  • Port number – Add the port number.  Tap Next.
  • If you receive a message about additional security features, select OK to continue.

On the Outgoing server settings page, add the following:

  • SMTP server – Type your outgoing mail server name. 
  • Security type – Pick whether SSL or otherwise.
  • Port number – Add your port number.  Tap Next.
  • In Account name type a name for this account and the name you want displayed when you send email to others.
  • Select Done.

You may need to wait 10 to 15 minutes after you set up your account before you can send or receive email.

Email on iOS Device

If you have an iOS device: iPhone, iPad or iPod touch:

  • Tap Settings
  • Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Tap Add Account
  • Select your email provider: Tap Other > Add Mail Account
  • Provide the required information to finish adding your account

You will need these Settings for adding an email account to your Android or iOS device:

Incoming Mail Server Settings

Account type (POP or IMAP): POP or IMAP (recommended)
Incoming Mail Server: domainname.myinfoserve.co.uk
User Name: full email address
Password: password
Incoming server port number: POP 110 or IMAP 143; using SSL (see below) POP 995 or IMAP 993
Incoming server supports SSL? (yes or no): no (unless you have bought a certificate)

Outgoing Mail Server Settings

Outgoing mail server: domainname.myinfoserve.co.uk
User name: full email address
Password: password
Outgoing server port: 25; using SSL (see below) 465
Outgoing server supports SSL? (yes or no): no (unless you have bought a certificate)
